Gift-Wrapping Made Easy…
We’re Making A Tape Stamper!

FROM THE QUIRKY TEAM...

Hey Quirks!

We’re still recovering (and noshing on leftovers) from Tuesday’s epic Quick & Quirky throwdown. Over 24 hours, our community and staff came together to design and develop one new product: Stem Garden, a decorative indoor/outdoor herb planting system introduced by community member Austin Kerr-Valentic. We’re super proud of the finished product, and we’re happy to note that the product is already selling well – 21 units in the first 30 minutes!

Oh, and speaking of selling, Mitch has started a conversation on our blog and forum about Quirky’s plans to grow revenue for our community members. It’s aptly called “Cha-Ching!” because, well, that’s the sound we’ll all hear once we get our sales infrastructure in place.

As always, feel free to contact us with questions, comments, and concerns -- we're here at questions@quirky.com.

PRODUCT UPDATES

BEAMER

Some of our team members are headed to China next week to oversee the final stage of Beamer manufacturing. We know it's been a long wait; this has definitely been one of the more complicated products to manufacture.

BOBBLE BRUSH

We can't get enough of the Bobble Brush prototype. It's too fun! This product is out of tooling, and it's almost ready to roll. Our team is planning to push it forward during the China trip, along with Beamer.

WRAPSTER

Truth be told, we're struggling a bit with the usability of the Wrapster design. Over the next week or so, we're planning on working through these issues with the help of you guys. Stay tuned for more details.

Search, search, search! Take the time to do a quick Google search before submitting any product ideas, names, or taglines to Quirky. Sounds obvious, but you’d be surprised how many times we have to eliminate an idea from the running because it already exists!

USER OF THE WEEK

Will McLeod

Why he rocks: Will has been extremely helpful during the process of designing Digits (our touch-screen glove buttons). Although he submitted industrial design concepts of his own, his testing led him to believe that one of the Quirky Design Staff's submissions would work better, which he indicated in our comments section. He continues to send helpful suggestions and videos our way, even though he’s not earning any influence through those actions. He just says he “loves to help” – and we’re grateful!
