Let It Snow, Let It Snow... We’re Making A Snowman Mold!

FROM THE QUIRKY TEAM...

Welcome to the first edition of Quirky’s new weekly newsletter. It’s been a crazy couple of weeks in the office as Quirky continues to grow its community and staff. We are still hiring, and prefer to hire from within the community. If you're passionate about Quirky's products, and want to be part of our wholesale sales department, selling our latest creations to retailers around the world... get in touch.

Oh yeah, and big news. We have a Facebook page! Finally, right? Become a fan and suggest it to friends.

PRODUCT UPDATES

CORDIES

Production has been approved, and the tooling has been completed. Our engineering team has added a couple of great features to Cordies that you might get excited about -- we'll give you additional updates on this soon. Expect the product to ship by early March!

BEAMER

We’ve spent the last few weeks tweaking design and working out specifications like LED brightness and battery life, and we think we’ve finally got it. We hope to have the final prototype ready by next week, and we'll kick off formal production three weeks after that once tooling has been completed.

SCRATCH-N-SCROLL

Our problem child! Enabling this product to be written on, while maintaining a quality mouse surface, has been tough. Big news though -- we’ve finally found the right material, and formal production is set to start after the Chinese New Year holidays. We know it’s been a long, long wait. This product posed a huge production and engineering challenge -- but we were up for it! The product should ship by the end of March.

Be concise. Don't ramble on about how great your mom thought your idea was. Be practical and pragmatic. Share with the community the bare essentials of Why, What and How, and keep the mushy stuff for the comments section.

USER OF THE WEEK

Stephen Bozzone

Why he rocks: With six U.S. patents and 17 years of product development experience under his belt, Stephen has branded himself the “Invention Addict.” A few weeks ago, he wrote a fantastic blog entry on “The Five Steps to Quirky Success” -- a fantastic resource for newbies to Quirky. He’s volunteered to add another nickname to his list: “Quirky Evangelist.” By all means!
